Constant Red light on hub

My hub has a constant red light even after switching it off and on again. Still seem to be connected to the internet so I’m not sure if I should be worried about it. It’s a 3.0 hub.
Should I just ignore it as I can still access the internet or could it be a fault?

I have escalated your thread to the Forum Team for a priority response. The red light is an overheat safety warning. If the hub is running hot please disconnect it until the issue can be resolved. It may be a false warning, but in any case the hub should be replaced as a matter of urgency.

      Hello Rod1959

Sorry to hear of the hub issues and red light showing, we're eager to support with this and appreciate you raising this via the forums. Welcome to the community.

Please can you try this for me:

      • Turn the power switch off on the back of the Hub.
      • Ensure the Hub is upright, in a well-ventilated location and out of direct sunlight, if possible.
      • Switch the hub back on at the power.
      • The Hub should now operate normally.

Please report back with the result. In the meantime I will send you a Private Message to get some more details from you to assist. Check the envelope in the top right of the forum when signed in for the message.

      Rob

I have switched it off and back on but the red light is still showing.

      Hi Lesp1964,

We can see you have raised this in a different thread as linked, we ask to not raise the same issue across multiple threads as this can delay the response and convolute the information and support. We can see a member of the team has responded via the at thread to offer support.
