360 box power off

Ever since signing up to the 360 service the set top box keeps powering off when not in use. It has to be switched off at the back and switched on again. It’s so frustrating, the 360 update has made my box almost unusable (especially coupled with the fact it wiped all my recordings which I don’t understand why?) The power supply seems fine and nothing else has changed prior to the update, all cables checked and the hub seems fine. Help please?

    Hi SteK19

As part of the migration from V6 the hard drive is formatted and then the new 360 operating system is installed. The insert leaflet (or details printed on the inside box lid containing the remote(s)  advises, ' Watch any recorded shows before you upgrade (we can’t transfer them, and you deserve a duvet day). Just bear in mind your service will automatically update 5 days after this package arrived' (screenshot below, point 2)

If you go to Settings > System > Standby Timer you can choose how long the TV is idle before it goes into standby. There are four choices:- 4, 5, 6 and 24 hours.  If the box is in standby then you can press the red light on the front right hand side of the 360 box to waken it up again.   Also if you go to Settings > System > Standby power consumption and select Fast start or Active start then the box will wake up quicker than leaving it set to Eco start.
