Can No Longer watch sky sports on Virgin tv go

I renewed my virgin media account last Thursday 25th September, ever since when I login on the sky sports app via the virgin login section, I log in and then click on watch and then choose to watch live football, it comes up with this box (see attached picture) and when I click 'got it' and when I try and click on to watch live football again, I get the same pop up box, so it doesn't allow me to watch live sky sports channels anymore. I have called Virgin media customer service numerous times and found it as helpful as a chocolate fireguard. Anyone else have this issue?

 

  • UPDATE Not sure about anyone else, but mine is now working again, can now watch Sky Sports again on my devices, fingers crossed for everyone else, but I just checked and it now works once again.

  • I have been having the same problem as everyone else since i renewed my contract. But i did find a work around as a temporary measure.

    If you put the programme you want to watch on to record, you can watch it using the saved programmes option on the virgin tv go app. Not ideal i know but it let me watch the football and the F1 at the weekend. Meant I could fast forward past all the pre amble too until I caught up with the live steam 👍🏻

    UPDATE Not sure about anyone else, but mine is now working again, can now watch Sky Sports again on my devices, fingers crossed for everyone else, but I just checked and it now works once again.

      Hi POmahoney, are you still able to use the sky sports app. Did you do anything to get it working. If you did could you give any pointers to try and help me out. My problems seem to be the same as you were experiencing. Thanks.

  • Having no longer been able to watch Sky Sports in the Virgin TV Go app I have been doing some research and see that Virgin are now saying that the service is no longer available and an announcement will be made if the situation should change. Pity there seems to have not been any announcement that it was being discontinued! It doesn’t bode well in homes where one partner wants to watch their own program and the other wants to watch sport on their iPad.

      You should post a link to your research that states, "the service is no longer available"

      Sky Sports is working for me via the Sky Sports app, and also via https://www.skysports.com/ in a browser.

      Three Sky Sports channels are available via the TVGo app and https://virgintvgo.virginmedia.com/ browser page..

      Sky Sports Mix and Sky Sports Racing which are available to all VM customers that have a TV package but don't subscribe to the full Sky Sports package,  and Sky Sports News which is available to all VM customers (with the exception of the Sky Mixit tier) that have a TV package but don't subscribe to the full Sky Sports package.

        Thank you for your response. Sod’s Law I can’t find the research item again. I have Sky Sports+ package and after a great deal of trying I, fingers crossed, seemed to have finally managed to get the programs back using the Sky Sports app. Not an easy task for a geriatric 😡, even for someone not yet suffering from dementia.

  • Sorry Virgin but I have had enough of not being able to watch Sky Sports on my linked iPad whilst my wife is watching Virgin TV programs on our main TV. Unfortunately I have another year before I can cancel my service without penalty, but my experiences with this will still remain in my memory. I did manage to get it once but only once. As for talking to Virgin I’m afraid to say that I can’t be bothered to waste my time spending ages getting nowhere. At my age I have become used to good customer service. Sort it please or I expect you will lose more customers than you would like.

      What version Ipad have you got an what operating software is it on? 

      Have you gone over the device limit?

       

  • Thought I’d add my twopenneth as these posts are now 3 months old. This issue is still ongoing and no one seems to have a fix for it. I’ve spoken to at least 4 different people at virgin all of whom took me through the same process to try and get things sorted. They were all very polite and genuinely tried to help but no of them could. Reading through other peoples experiences a fault ref F012022105 seems to come up quite often. If anyone at virgin is monitoring this please get it fixed . I have tried everything while on the phone to your agents and am still waiting without a service I am paying for.

  • Hello Steven, when I say I’ve tried everything I mean I’ve talked to your agents on about 4 occasions each time following their suggestions on how to get things working. Each call lasting an hour or more with no change. I’ve also had web chats with the promise of follow up calls which never come. The last suggestion was to call sky and see if they could have a problem at their end. I think there are enough people on here with the same issue as me for virgin to know if sky were at fault. The fault I mentioned earlier seems to cover what the problem is. There’s a common saying used these days defining insanity as doing the same thing again and again and expecting a different outcome and it fits what I am being asked to do by your agents. I have raised a complaint after my last call and would appreciate your help in helping myself and everyone with this issue get access to sky sports on mobile devices .

      Thanks for the update on this POmahoney. We do have to ask questions even if they may be repetitive to ensure that all processes and resolutions have been tried prior to bring ing you in for a private message to dig a little deeper as this can be down to user error. If you can confirm that you are still in receipt of: 

      Sky Sports package with your Virgin Media package.
      You have updated any and all login details for your online accounts as well as Streaming services as this can also affect watching various Streaming Apps. 

      If this is the case the next step will be bringing you in for a private message. 

      Please let us know ASAP.

        Hi, are you replying to me Tonyp65 or POmahoney. If it’s me  I can confirm I have sky sports in my package. I am able to watch sky sports highlights so I must be signed in. It’s streaming live events that isn’t happening. I have spent hours trying things with your agents so I’m pretty sure we’ve covered most avenues. If we haven’t I would welcome some help from you if you have any suggestions your agents might have missed. I’m no. expert when it comes these matters and there seem to be quite a few others with the same problems. Is there a solution for fault F012022105 I’d love to see if that works.

  • Hi. Thanks for trying to help. It does appear I’m not signed into sky sports app any more but I do have sky sports in my subscription. Honestly I’ve tried everything that virgin agents have suggested with no luck. Everything should be up to date the number of times I’ve been sent round in circles while having the same conversation with different agents. The circle often ends with me relinking my virgin and o2 accounts then being prompted to set a pin only to get the same message that virgin cannot set my pin at this time and offering no further advice on what to do next. If I were the only person on this forum with this issue I’d happily accept it’s something I’m not doing but there does seem to be others with the same issue. I’ve had the promise of an email with a link to fix things  and the promise of a callback that hasn’t come. No one seems to want to acknowledge if the F012022105 fault is a thing. If anyone has genuinely managed to fix similar issues please let me know how .
