Hub 5x, 2gig up/down - packet loss / latency / disconnects every 30 mins
Hi, seems I am another victim of this disconnect and packet loss issue with 5x hub and 2gig fiber, which occurs every 30mins, which seems to be caused by 'RealSpeed' checking the speed of my connection (?!). Can someone from support PLEASE stop this from happening to my service? I need this resolved asap as I rely on the connection for WFH, competitive gaming and streaming with friends. The constant disconnects are making all 3 impossible to work with. Here's the issue SOLVED by doing exactly that (getting someone to turn off the auto speed testing): https://community.virginmedia.com/discussions/Wireless/upgraded-to-2gig-and-see-ping-time-outs-and-youtube-buffering/5537915/replies/5546444 It's extremely worrying that I can find many threads nearly 2 years old with this same issue. Waited nearly 6 months for the install due to 4 rescheduled installations - now this... feeling like I should've waited for BT to reach my area. 😢326Views1like20CommentsWifi and upload nightmare issues.
Across all our devices for the last 4 months wifi connected devices are intermittently not loading, they just drop off to mobile data or say connected no Internet. We are on the gig bundle. When doing Sam knows tests all looks fine but it's not. The engineers even experienced it when here. When doing speed test downloads speeds are fine but errors out on upload. Had 3 engineer visits, a new hub a new booster, One engineer said he found a ghost network. Even when all hubs etc where off still showing the network. It's driving us crazy, wifi tvs connect and seconds later lose the network again. As do all mobile devices, laptops etc... Any help or suggestions would be very much appreciated60Views0likes6CommentsNetwork Drop-off micro disconnects
As you can see by the Latency Spikes and Dropped Packets, my router is completely disconnecting from the internet for short periods of time at random. This affecting all devises connected via wifi and cat6. Anyone also experiencing this know a solution? Restarted router and no change.26Views0likes1CommentMy Internet is disconnecting intermittently even with ethernet cable
I have tried the following fixes: 1. Factory reset the router 2. Bought an ethernet cable to directly plugged my PC to rule out WIFI being the problem. I checked the network log, and every day I have reports of the following nature that seem to correlate with the disconnections (see table 1 below). Can anyone tell me what I must do? I recently spoke with Virgin on the phone and they were telling me its possibly because I'm on the m125 package and I could be 'using too much internet', but its disconnecting when the internet is not even been used. Additionally, I've had virgin for over a year and this disconnecting issue only started this past month. It's unbearable as my partner works from home and it can drop out every 10 mins sometimes. table 1 (Router Status - Network Log) Router status 22/01/2025 19:56:52 Warning!
