VM phishing email but VM aren't interested
I get this email spam email regularly and I forward on to the phishing email address at VirginMedia, and this is their standard response: Thanks for checking in with us. We’re only able to confirm if emails sent from Virgin Media O2 are genuine. As the email you received appears to come from someone else, you’ll need to contact that company using their official contact details to check if it’s real. Treat the email with caution – don’t click on any links or share personal details until you’ve confirmed it’s genuine. Need more help? Get in touch with our team here. Take care, The Virgin Media O2 team Does VM not do anything about scammers pretending to be VM any more? Or is this just another indication that VM is washing its hands of its email service altogether and you just can't be bothered to do anything about it?
Dodgy Support Call (Spam ?)
Just had a call from 07[MOD EDIT: Removed] - someone claiming to be from Virgin Media support and saying that they are seeing lots of errors on my router and internet connection. When I challenged him about what he was wanting me to do (connect to a website etc) he called me a mother*beep* and hung up. I hope that we wasn't a legitimate VM employee !Virgin calling from a 0788 number
Hi, I received this text after I started an order by clicking on third party deals aggregator don’t recall which one it was. “Hello, You recently made an online application for Virgin Media services. To complete your order please give me a call. kerry on 07885479730” I called and got a “pre contract”. Kerry asked me to setup up a phone pin, and asked for my account details to setup my direct debit. I think it’s legit but I stopped the process cause it seemed fishy. I then received a “pre contract” in my email looking legit too send by webteam@virginmedia.com is this a scam?Is this number a genuine VM contact

I have been having constant calls from people claiming that they are from marketing. The number is +44 800 052 1251. I get these calls every single day and they are usually around the same time each day. If I don’t pick up they keep calling me till I do. Iv googled the number which tells me that this is a virgin media phone number. Has anyone else experienced this ?Wifi pod - customer support scam/lies
I recently signed on for a new contract, it included a hub upgrade from 3 - 5. I had an existing pod which is now not compatible, after a lot of back and forth, they agreed to send me a new compatible pod. I have spoken with upwards of 10 members of the "customer support" team for an hour or more each time, every single person has lied, fobbed me off or actively abused me on the phone. I'm pretty tech savvy and committed to sorting a problem, but I've never had such a horrendous experience as this. The loop is just constant, get through explain the same problem, they don't get it, pass me to someone else, who says they'll sort it, promises they'll call me back that it's being resolved, but nothing they can do on the phone, assurances...then nothing and it starts again. They apparently can't send any emails of evidence of what's been said or promised, they can't generate bills or contracts, they can't share what the status is of an issue and they don't have the contact details of any internal teams or staff....so essentially there is no customer service. Anyone manage to avoid the scam/doomloop and actually get something resolved?
Scam mobile calls from India on landline
I have started receiving a lot of calls from supposed UK mobile numbers (a different number every time), 20 calls to date, all between 09:00 and 17:00 Mon-Fri. Initially we answered the calls as we did not know who was calling, lately we have just let them go to voicemail. When you answer the phone it is always someone saying they are from Virgin Media and that there is an issue with the broadband connection, when challenged to tell me who I am and where I live they immediately hang up. The calls are from a call centre, you can hear the chatter in the background and appear to be from (I'm guessing) India or similar. It is very annoying and worrying as my wife's parents are both nearly 90 and not very well and they are normally the only people who ring us on the landline - we don't give the number out anywhere as we use our mobiles for everything - it stresses my wife as soon as the phone rings before you can see who the caller is. How can we stop these people calling? OK, so, had 3 phone calls today so far, from this number, and a foreign female stating 'she was calling from Virgin Media with regards to my account, and needed to verfiy my account' Now she didn't ask for anyone by name, or give any details about the account. Initially I was very wary of her, and refused to continue the conversation, and hung up. She called again a few moments later, and repeated the same dialogue, but I again hung up without answering this time. Persistant, she then called again 5 minutes later, and tried again. Again I didn't engage with her, and hung up. Obviously a scam, as VM don't call customers!! I pay for my Netflix account as part of my Virgin Media subscription / package. My Netflix account has been hacked and the hacker has changed my email address to log into Netflix. If I try to log into Netflix with my email address, it says the account doesn't exist. When I access the Netflix app via Virgin Media on my TV, it is pin protected and the home screen is in a different language. I've tried everything to reset the account etc and I'm hitting a brick wall as it seems everything has been changed. Can anyone assist?
