- Outlook won't connect to IMAPHi, Today, my blueyonder.co.uk email stopped syncing in Outlook (on a Windows 11 Laptop). I removed the account in Outlook and tried to set it up again as IMAP. Outlook says 'Waiting for you Email Provider' and then it fails with the message 'Sign in failed. Please try again in a few minutes. You may need an app password'. I am using the app password. In fact, I went into My Virgin Media and created a new app password to use. I can access the emails on my android phone and tablet using this new app password, but it is only failing in Outlook. If I then click on 'Troubleshoot', it shows the error code INVALIDCREDENTIALS TEMPORARILYUNAVAILABLE. I have a business email account (via another provider) and that is connected tOutlook fine via IMAP, so it is an issue with Virgin. Anyone know what is going on? Thanks.1.4KViews6likes46Comments
- New Outlook and Virginmedia emailAll was find before but I am now having issues with my virginmedia email account via Outlook. I can't receive or sent emails anymore. I have rechecked the settings and they were fine and I also created a new app password but to no success. The only difference that I've noticed is in Outlook the settings default the incoming server as imap4.blueyonder.co.uk and so I chose the use recommended settings toggle switch which it changes it to imap.virginmedia.com making all the settings as they should be but the problem has not be resolved.1.2KViews0likes16Comments
- NTLworld email not recognising password started todayIt looks like others have similar problems. My NTLworld email account is not accepting my password on my Android phone or Windows pc. Attempting to log onto Virgin media does no accept even my email address for login. Something has clearly gone wrong, and I'd prefer not starting to attempt to get around this. - desperate help - emails not available on iphones after virgin APP password changehonestly losing the will - got a new computer and to get emails on there I needed to generate a new password via the virgin app - copied it correctly - got the computer working, then the iphones stopped getting emails . kept saying Password incorrect - enter password for the IMAP account "Virgin". so, we have 3 iphones linked to this account ( plus an ipad ) - so put the newly generated password in from the virgin APP generated one - still didn't work. Thought maybe I had written it down wrong as for a short period of time, when we took off wifi, we were getting the emails on 4 / 5 g. Being stupid, I did another new password via the virgin app - actually took a picture of it this time to make sure I had everything right - managed to get the main computer working ok using the password, but yet again, none of the iphones are getting the emails - in fact it has got worse as in we aren't even getting them on 4/5g now either. Have done absolutely everything the online chats say - turned off iphones and restarted - same with router - done several new passwords - even deleted the email account from one of the iphones and now can't readd it as it is saying "Virgin unavailable" - at absolute wits end - there are lots of chats on here about this, but I have not found a full solution that I have not already tried - helpSolved157Views0likes7Comments
- Can’t add email to Outlook, IMAP wrongHi, I’ve several email accounts on my Outlook on my iPad. Sometimes it asks me to re-sign into an account. Never had a problem. But today it just keeps saying Invalid IMAP username/password. Several months ago Virgin changed how I logged into my media & email account. I have to use my gmail email address. ive tried all combinations of ntlworld or gmail addresses, along with gmail password for Virgin- no longer have password with Virgin for ntlworld address. Same invalid response. I got so frustrated I deleted account from Outlook so I could re-enter it from scratch, another thing I’ve never had trouble with. But same Invalid message! Email comes up as normal if I go online. But need to be able to easily see ntlworld emails. - Unable to access POP or IMAPHaving been a customer since NTL days, I have been using my principal NTLWorld email account constantly for decades. Outlook is the master client running on a Windoze 10 PC with many email addresses from different providers including my own domains. The system polls all email accounts every 5 minutes and in recent weeks I have been getting an occasional pop-up which indicates the NTLWorld.com account isn't permitting access. This usually resolves itself but over the past 2 days, this particular email account just refuses to allow POP or IMAP access. Long story short, I deleted the local Outlook account and tried oh so many times, to create a new account to connect but it refuses to connect. I get an Outlook-generated pop-up saying "We couldn't logon to the incoming (POP) server. Pease check your email address and password and try again." Some info: IMAP and POP3 won't work Tried setting up with Thunderbird - won't work either. Similar error notice. Webmail access does work - very odd. Setting up several of my seldom-used NTLWorld accounts in Outlook works like a dream! Even more irritating, this particular email address is the master for the VirginMedia broadband account! So the question is - has the access for POP/IMAP been turned off for this particular account at the VirginMedia Mothership? I cannot find any method of manually turning it off and back on [like Gmail]. Perhaps it needs resetting on the server?
