Hi monkeyfinger 👋.
Thanks for reaching out to us, sorry to hear of the issue that you are facing with logging into your emails. Can you please confirm if you are able to still access this via our webmail site?
If this be the case any third party email clients will need an adjustment of the manual settings.- BugblastTuning in
I have the same issue, webmail is fine but cannot log in to ntlworld accounts through Outlook for Windows app on laptop or pc ,have checked all the settings and generated a new recovery code/password ,reset & reinstalled the app.
Have you changed the login imap/smtp settings for ntlworld accounts?

The recovery code is not the same as an email app password.
To create an email app password or update an existing one you need to follow these steps:
Sign into the My Virgin media account for the email concerned with your VMO2ID
Select Account Settings
Select Identity & Security Settings
Select Manage your products
Select Manage email app password
Click on the blue button 'Get New Password'
Make a note of the generated password. This is what you use in the mail apps along with the vm email address as the username.

Thanks - I'm at a loss to be honest. I am attempting to access via Android phone, PC, and Apple ipad. All using Outlook. Currently the phone is requesting a password, which doesn't work (I haven't changed the password). The other 2 methods are still working fine, as long as I use the New Outlook on PC. I've just established that the phone will work for Email if I turn off wifi and use the phone network only. Any idea what this means?

I suggest you have a look at the number of the threads and comments on this issue across the forums. This appears to be impacting 100s of people and VM are silent not even acknowledging there is a problem

I’m having the same issues. Onto customer services and they generated a new password that won’t work. I then generated another one and still won’t work. Now getting messages saying NTL is unavailable, I am beyond frustrated, my husbands is working fine.

I can’t only access my emails if I go through the Virginmedia webpage

So if I can access through a mobile signal, but not using VM wifi at my home address, using my phone, what does that signify?

Hey Monkeyfinger, thank you for reaching out and we are sorry to hear about your email issues.
To confirm you can access your email everywhere on the same device apart from when connected to WIFI?
Did any of the above help at all?

Mine does work with or without wi-fi and using mobile signal only

Sorry should say “doesn’t”

I tried downloading Thunderbird (Mozilla) desktop email client today ,added NTLworld IMAP email and it worked instantly , so am now thinking that the issue may be the Outlook app, apparently the IMAP side of it is still in development and we all know how Microsoft like breaking things!
(Thunderbird have a mobile app too if needed , think you have to tweak folder settings to get Sent folder to sync with Desktop)

Well I already have Thunderbird and it has stopped working for me. Virgin seem to have blacklisted the 3rd party apps for some reason.
My nightmare started on Friday- I submitted the netreport as suggested and it returned Saturday morning only to be taken away in the afternoon ( when I was away so not using PC or iphone or Ipad). I submitted a netreport yesterday but no luck yet. I checked Spamhouse both times(as suggested) but no issues with my email address or ip address so can only conclude this is a Virgin problem
So still not able to access Thunderbird or the emails on my Iphone or Ipad though a work around is to use 5G on the phone to see them.
The lack of a response or information from Virgin just makes a bad situation so much worse!
Please help
