Closing my email account inappropriately
I've read the email threads about Virgin closing emails accounts from those who no longer have broadband with Virgin. My situation is that I'm getting told that they will be deleting an email account I opened many years ago with (virgin.net), but I continue to have virgin broadband and haven't changed anything! I've called, but can't get anyone to take responsibility. I've now had a "14 day" final warning. What can I do to retain my virgin.net email account?Solved16KViews0likes5CommentsNo access to e-mails!
I have two email addresses. One is a @ntlworld.com and the other @ virginmedia.com. I have forgotten the passwords and phoned virginmedia for help. After 30 minutes plus they couldn’t help and raised an IT ticket. They promised contact within 72 hours but nothing! I have various disabilities, a pensioner & don’t understand anything other than extremely basic tech jargon. I have a new phone but cannot get access to either of my emails. Even on my virgin media web page I can only access the ntlworld e-mails but I have no access to my virginmedia.com emails. It is this which I conduct the vast majority of my emails including ordering medication and banking. i am at my wits end and feel very alone and frustrated. Dear community. Help please. Long story short : Broadband service transferred away in Jan. Official request to cancelled received by Virgin 3 Feb 2024. All information provided confirmed by Virgin home movers team. currently today 24 June 2024 I am still receiving bills chasing for debt for each month. Home mover advised they needed to get a manager to approve refund due to the large value. This was over a month ago. Promised to call back . Ha. Should have known better! Its been over a month now since that last call. Can’t email. Can’t access online account. And still no refund or confirmation of account cancellation. I have had their debt centre chasing me and they can’t or are not willing to help. I’m ready to go ombudsman now to report this. Hello there, I am wondering if someone can help (pleeeaaassseeeee!). My dear old mum has been using her ntlworld.com email account for donkey's years (she no longer has a virgin service). For the last few days she has been unable to access her emails - via her "thunderbird" software. We never have known the password! But I found a way to retrieve the password held in thunderbird - hurrah! But if I try the saved IMAP password online direct it says its not correct. I cannot change the password as she is not a VM customer. Arrrggghhh! Is there anything I can try please? Any thoughts very welcome to cheer up my mum 🙂3.3KViews0likes8Comments
