Prohibited word use reseting password
My Blueyonder e-mail, which has been working fine for years, just stopped accepting my password. I have received no communication from Virgin Media stating that it is time to reset my password or providing any other explanation for this. I tried to reset my password, and I continually get the "Prohibited Word used" for every password I try. Whoever designed this reset interface needs to go back to college and learn about user interface design and user experience. At no point is any advice given as to what a password should be. I have tried all manner of combinations based on other posts on this forum. Yes, my password starts with a letter (not documented anywhere on the form). Yes, I have an uppercase and a lowercase letter. Yes, I have a number. Yes, it is between 8 and 64 characters. No, it does not contain any easy-to-guess words. No, it is not a reused password. Somebody explain how ANYBODY is supposed to reset their password using an interface like this?49Views0likes2Comments- 203Views0likes9Comments

Someone hacked my blueyonder address and used it to buy stuff from my Amazon account last week. When I tried to log in on line my password didn't work, and the verification code sent to a rogue email account that was not mine! So they have control of my email account! I spent 3 days on the phone to Vm explaining and attempting to log in with no success. Finally they said this was with their fraud team and technical team and I should leave it to them to sort. They said it may take 3-5 days, that was over 1 week ago, I haven't heard anything. Not sure what I should do and how to resolve this, any ideas?30Views0likes1CommentPassword reset
We have been customers for a long time... My wife and I both have blueyonder.co.uk email accounts. As account holder, I initially set up sub-accounts (email addresses) for my wife and each of our children. I used to be able to see these and manage passwords (in fact originally, only I could do this - they couldn't manage their own accounts). I cannot find this page anywhere on my account details. My wife has a new laptop, and cannot remember her email password (not something you use very often when emails are synched onto a computer) but we can't find a way to either recover or reset this. The account is still active and on her iPad, but it doesn't show the password. Any help and advice?? Thank you!99Views1like6CommentsBlueyonder email access denied
So my wife and in our household both have blueyonder emails. I, as the supposed account holder, have the VM account which is now switched to a VM/O2 ID (doing that was a horrendous repetitive loop of confusing irritation). My BlueY email is working though it seems that without being advised they have removed another BlueY email address that I rarely use but did want to retain - all without telling me! My wife’s email was suddenly unavailable as the password in the email client was no longer accepted. We can’t see her email box now other than via the email client she uses and I can only see a single BlueY email online. So we can’t generate a new password. We called VM (the automated menu is a not a pleasant experience) eventually we spoke to a person whose advice was to set up a secondary email (she then set up a gmail one) and a VM account for my wife. By adding ‘my’ account details it would be a subsidiary to my (the household) account then we could generate a password for her email. My wife’s email used to have VM account for her mobile but that was switched to O2 and it is all supposed to be included in the volt family arrangement. In following the advice we got stuck at the transfer the VMO2 account to her new email - that was not what we wanted. So I called again and yet another conversation was had (where you are not really sure that there is any mutual understanding going on) that ended with it being ‘beyond their knowledge level’ so it was being passed to tech. I think perhaps restricting access to BlueY email has been a decision made or collateral damage from closer VM O2 working. The timescale advised has passed and beginning to think that remaining with VM is not going to be an option but all my wife wants is access to the email she has had since before VM what seems like decades . Any suggestions67Views0likes2CommentsNightmare caused by Blueyonder Email and VM!
We signed up for Virgin Media about 10 years ago. I have been pleased with their broadband in terms of speed (as it was always Full Fibre here and No copper - yes). They gave me the Email maiThese-lto:G***@blueyonder.co.uk and for my wife mailto:S***@blueyonder.co.uk These are for example. To access the account change passwords I used G email no probs. Then when Web mail access came out they put me on a mailto:GM***@virginmedia.com Email this was not the account holder had to BYonder!! And if I read my mail on G @ BY it was the same as mailto:S***@BY. My wife has a new laptop so moving Email over to it on Office 365 copilot Outlook (client). Thats been changed and is unhelpful. But I can't find the password. (I use a password manager but this was all set up before that). I ring up Help Desk via their automated what do you want Broadband TV etc. Finally get through that and Help desk say this BY account is not connected. Eventually after a morning I get on to a WhatsApp Chat. And they have raised a ticket PO number. But it will take 3 -8 days to respond and they do not talk directly to users. However they have changed the ID of the account holder from a BY email to my VM email. I can access the account and read my Virgin Email. But a brief break from the dialogue. I don't view VM as a comms company they are in entertainment TV and all that jazz. And some time ago they lost Email for about 10 days!! So I decided enough was enough I have my own domain name (only costs a small amount). Went to another company and pay for domain support and Email.) There are rumours?? That VM will drop all blueyonder Email support (and some others). When I started to tell my wife that she may have to change Email address - she wasn't very happy. I would make a formal complaint but I don't feel Virgin Media are listening to their users or helping us. Getting through the on-line phone help desk is a nightmare.56Views1like1CommentNo longer have access to a Blueyonder email account
My daughter can no longer access her blueyonder email account. She can remember her password and the recovery email doesn't appear to be hers. I am the Virgin Media account holder and have been for more than 30 years. Would appreciate some advice on how she can view her emails. Many thanks.115Views0likes11Comments
