Sky contract coming to an end so need options for landline. Is this available from VM in XGS-PON areas yet? It still seems to be ‘coming soon’. Any experience using VOIP services on the Hub 5x as an alternative? SolvedRe: Ordering Wi-Fi pods for Hub 5x Brilliant summary, thank you! White Pod now arrived and I'm happy to hear it will work (not set up yet). From what I can see it's an automated system so you cannot request a certain colour. They only send Black Pods out for customer on Gig1 or higher packages (maybe M500, not 100% sure). Also agree on calling, just be persistent and attempt to call in quite times. I found Sunday morning around 10am to be a very quick answer. Re: Ordering Wi-Fi pods for Hub 5x Hi Matt, Was due a callback yesterday but nothing. 2nd line team advised they were having trouble using the automated system to place an order and needed to do it manually which required a manager to action. Re: Ordering Wi-Fi pods for Hub 5x The Hub 5x team didn’t suggest anything like that and I have spoken to other users in new XGS-PON areas with the 5x that have working Pods. So they seem to work from what I can tell, it’s just a nightmare getting them ordered in the first place. I’ve been told to call back in 48 hours and try again Re: Ordering Wi-Fi pods for Hub 5x So it seems like there is no number for the 5x team, as they're essentially second line support. Just have to contact the normal number and get passed through to them. Just spent 30 mins on the phone to be told by the 5x team that they cannot run the required diagnostic tests to organise a Pod order, despite me already running the VM Connect tests... Wondering what the point of that app is, really? Ordering Wi-Fi pods for Hub 5x Hi, Can someone provide the phone number for Hub 5x team. Chat support just gives the general number and refuse to assist further with ordering Wi-Fi Max hubs. Have a Volt Package and getting less than 30Mb/s in our kitchen SolvedRe: XGS-PON installation experiences Glad to hear you're all connected externally, should be easier to get solid dates from now on as I assume you deal direct with VM for the internal installation? In terms of the external junction box, did they consult you about the internal location you want the fibre to terminate before fitting it, or did they just put it where they felt was best? Re: XGS-PON installation experiences Thanks for the input. Any idea how long the cable was roughly? Also a bungalow, so might have the same length issue. Also you mentioned the VM wifi pods, did you have issues with these as there have been reports of the new Hub 5x not working with them correctly? Re: XGS-PON installation experiences Any idea how long the cable they ran was, roughly? My relatives are in a bungalow and there is a fair bit of distance from the telegraph pole to high-point of the house, then into the hallway where they will want the connection for the router to be. Re: XGS-PON installation experiences Please do post some photos if you're able, that would be very useful!
