So much simple functionality has been cast aside just so the new format can look "relevant". I regret accepting the upgrade. Re: 360. Cost and is it worth doing? I received a free upgrade last week. New remote arrived during the week and finally upgraded today. Regret doing so. Re: Unhappy with 360 upgrade Weren't you offered a new router? I had a similar issue and received a new 5 router last year. Ultimately I did upgrade to the TV 360 and regret doing so. Certainly isn't as user-friendly as the V6 set up. Re: 360 compared to V6 I have just received the new upgrade from a V6 box to the newer Virgin TV 360 system that includes a new remote control. So far I think I have lost quite a bit of the functionality of the V6 box. I can't locate on-demand, unless I wish to pay for shows movies etc. The accompanying guidebook isn't too informative and the remote functions are very confusing to the ones on the V6 box. Perhaps I am being a little bit picky, but I honestly think the old V6 set up was more user friendly without the need of attempting to copy everyone else. Confusion When did Virgin Media remove the link to this website and why? It has taken me quite some time to get here so I'll keep my question brief. Have the "new" arrangements been made to deter us from asking questions? O2 seem to have taken over. Re: V6 box down Thanks for the info. Unfortunately I really haven't a clue what it refers to or how I would access it. However, it would appear that my V6 box had been down for "maintenance" as was the system checker, as the following day everything was back to normal as far as I could see. The only issue being that on one of the TNT sports channels the picture does get very very dim. No idea if they are/were connected but all in all it would appear as if the "glitch" had fixed itself overnight. Sorry it has taken so long to reply but I had been away for a short while. Regards Bryan W V6 box down Turned my tv on tonight at 10pm and was presented with a snow blizzard screen. Unable to access anything on V6 box. Remote no good. Checked my area status and it wasn't able to assist as apparently that was having also problems. Tried again at midnight with same result... no assistance available ( try in 30 minutes, again) Rechecked at 1.30am ( Friday am) still no tv picture or online status check. Bloody brilliant. Didn't bother contacting the help number as the people don't or can't understand what you say. Amazing bad telecommunications and entertainment company. Damn angry I was conned into signing a new contract. I have tried everything except hitting the V6 box with a mallet. Will try that once I calm down. Any assistance would be deeply appreciated. . Re: contract renewal Regarding the 'retention team', I found it very difficult to get across what I meant and even more difficult to comprehend the answers given. Ultimately I gave up and agreed to the contract I had been offered. Next time I will end contract and seek tv/internet elsewhere. Re: internet I find that when my 2.4ghz wifi is down that my wired ethernet also cuts out. Surely ethernet shouldn't be affected if my wifi fails? I continually have to either reset my router, which is a pain due to having to reconnect to everything, or I unplug and re-plug my router. both actions obviously mean I have to reconnect everything. This is happening every morning when I turn on my laptop. My other concern is that my home security is sync'd to 2.4ghz wifi, so if that fails my home security camera is out of action too. Re: contract renewal Sadly I tried those options and came away with nothing worthwhile apart from being stuck with the contract I already had. I really do feel that call-centre agents should be British born and bred and that call centres shouldn't be sited offshore just to cut costs. No doubt the agents employed are highly qualified but not having English as your first language surely must impede progress in understanding people let alone solving problems.
