I think it was the same screen I have had before several times that seems more like a backend VM webmail security screen to confirm login again when my sessions with webmail have sporadically been timed out. Sometimes, I can even refresh or 'Back' out of this screen and into my webmail as normal. (Anyone know the screen I mean?) Anyway, this screen was instead now telling me that I needed to create a Virgin Media O2 ID by linking my VM account to my O2 account. It all seemed official as I had been trying to access my webmail from the same webmail tab that is always open on my phone. I recall going through the motions with this and setting up an O2 ID and finally getting into my webmail again, and I had a text confirmation of this being completed. However, I was in such a panic about not being able to access my emails abroad when I needed them that I wasn't fully checking and it looks like I have an O2 ID confirmation from what appears to be a standard mobile number. Can a member of staff please contact me so that I can check whether my account remains secure and discuss this in further detail? Re: Email saga only gets worse..... I've been in a similar situation with my blueyonder email addresses. I made a forum post myself in the past to ask for help over this confusing mess. I've also been noticing over the past year that my third-party mail fetching application (Outlook) is now extremely janky when it comes to connecting to VM to retrieve new mail, and I'm having to delete one email on Outlook in order for new emails to appear in my inbox. A bit like things aren't smoothly connecting to VM's servers anymore and needs a nudge to connect. Re: Virgin/O2 merger new sim card. Scam or for real? This scam is still happening as I had the same thing happen to me on 1st August this year (2025). In my case, they were wanting to know if I would be in on the following Monday as they said they needed to send me a new SIM card due to the Virgin and O2 merger. They texted a security code to my mobile number which looked like the genuine O2 Security Warning text followed by a separate security code text that we usually get from O2. It even appeared in my iPhone's same O2 UK text history as all my other genuine O2 texts I'd had previously with security codes. The person on the call messed up a bit, though, as part of the second text wording said not to share the code even with O2 staff, and so I was refusing to share it with them. I hung up planning to verify this with Virgin and O2 directly and I was immediately being called again from a different number that looked like a standard mobile number. I have reported this to somebody at O2/Virgin Media who confirmed that nobody had been trying to contact me or had sent a code. Re: Need help composing from a different email address from mobile Ah, thank you. I’m using an iPhone with Safari, so I’ll need to find out how to switch to a desktop view on that. Need help composing from a different email address from mobile Hi everyone. I need some help figuring this out. I am one of the old-school blueyonder customers, and I have three other email addresses assigned under my one main blueyonder admin account (as we were allowed to have up to 4 email addresses per email inbox account back then and choose which email to reply to people from). I can log into my Virgin webmail from my laptop and reply to people just fine from any of the other blueyonder emails that are associated under my main admin account. These are available to select in a dropdown in the From field. However, my issue is that I don't have any dropdown option when I log into webmail on my phone. I can't find an email selection option anywhere. Up until the big change halfway through last year that has messed up these legacy blueyonder email accounts as well as caused other lasting issues for people, I used to be able to do the following on my phone when I was using webmail: Head into the settings then into Email, then Compose, then change my 'default email address' there in order to send or reply from one of my other blueyonder email addresses. But that doesn't work anymore. Is there another way to switch email accounts to send and reply from when accessing the webmail from a mobile phone? Thanks in advance! 🙂 Solved
