This. I wonder how many parents set up the WiFi schedule on their routers and see it working.... Then next day the MAC address randomizes and bam free late night WiFi haha. Wish I could have a Hub5. Recently switched to M250 and I got a 15 year old heavily used Hub 3 that's falling apart. Man I wish VM was a fair trade organisation, Giving some people old goods and others brand new modems, some people paying £120 for a package while others pay £80 for the same package. I know exactly what you're talking about. I also had the same problem. I've been using an email address with hyphens in it for almost 4 decades. Almost 2 decades with my main MyVM account. I recently tried to reset my password for my account with hyphens in it, but suddenly the form wouldn't validate! Apparrently VM have banned hypens in email addresses like they're some sort of internet standards authority hahahahaha :D . It really is bizarre. I was just trying to see what people’s thoughts are on why the speed has changed and if anyone is facing the same issues! Could be any number of reasons. Is your device certified to 802.11ax? I believe the Hub 5 is 802.11ax so if you pair a device which is also certified 802.11ax you will get the most benefit of 802.11ax. One benefit of 802.11ax is better resistance to interference. Also, If you are in a terraced houses and both your neighbours flood the area with 10 APs broadcasting 160Mhz wide channels, everybody suffers. Maybe when you previously had 1Gb there was just less interference? We can only guess without knowing your situation. How far are you from the hub when you get 145Mbps? It's a common misconception that VM "pays" for things. VM doesn't pay for anything - were not in a communist society yet. In a capitalist business, the customer pays for anything and everything. Business Studies 101. There's no business if the business is paying. The whole point of business is to get people to pay more than the value of the goods while pocketing anything extra, referred to as "profit". In my personal opinion a better description is: some executives can now syphon more out of the business by continuing to charge the same amount they were while not providing as much as they were, because if they weren't this "TIVO license fee" would have been subtracted from everyone's contracts when pressing the button to switch from TiVo to 360.58Views0likes0CommentsRe: Slow speed need help
You are getting 1Gb+ to your hub. I would be very happy with those speeds. Only thing VM could possibly do is if you consistently get less than 30Mbps VM may send you pods. But even these pods are proprietary devices, so better to just have your own networking equipment and to keep as much of your home network in your control with your own equipment. Even proper router manufacturers and actual device manufacturers themselves will never guarantee WiFi speeds so it's impossible for a third party such as VM to guarantee WiFi speeds.105Views0likes0Comments
