Password reset
We have been customers for a long time... My wife and I both have blueyonder.co.uk email accounts. As account holder, I initially set up sub-accounts (email addresses) for my wife and each of our children. I used to be able to see these and manage passwords (in fact originally, only I could do this - they couldn't manage their own accounts). I cannot find this page anywhere on my account details. My wife has a new laptop, and cannot remember her email password (not something you use very often when emails are synched onto a computer) but we can't find a way to either recover or reset this. The account is still active and on her iPad, but it doesn't show the password. Any help and advice?? Thank you!86Views1like6CommentsBlueyonder email access denied
So my wife and in our household both have blueyonder emails. I, as the supposed account holder, have the VM account which is now switched to a VM/O2 ID (doing that was a horrendous repetitive loop of confusing irritation). My BlueY email is working though it seems that without being advised they have removed another BlueY email address that I rarely use but did want to retain - all without telling me! My wife’s email was suddenly unavailable as the password in the email client was no longer accepted. We can’t see her email box now other than via the email client she uses and I can only see a single BlueY email online. So we can’t generate a new password. We called VM (the automated menu is a not a pleasant experience) eventually we spoke to a person whose advice was to set up a secondary email (she then set up a gmail one) and a VM account for my wife. By adding ‘my’ account details it would be a subsidiary to my (the household) account then we could generate a password for her email. My wife’s email used to have VM account for her mobile but that was switched to O2 and it is all supposed to be included in the volt family arrangement. In following the advice we got stuck at the transfer the VMO2 account to her new email - that was not what we wanted. So I called again and yet another conversation was had (where you are not really sure that there is any mutual understanding going on) that ended with it being ‘beyond their knowledge level’ so it was being passed to tech. I think perhaps restricting access to BlueY email has been a decision made or collateral damage from closer VM O2 working. The timescale advised has passed and beginning to think that remaining with VM is not going to be an option but all my wife wants is access to the email she has had since before VM what seems like decades . Any suggestions62Views0likes2CommentsNightmare caused by Blueyonder Email and VM!
We signed up for Virgin Media about 10 years ago. I have been pleased with their broadband in terms of speed (as it was always Full Fibre here and No copper - yes). They gave me the Email maiThese-lto:G***@blueyonder.co.uk and for my wife mailto:S***@blueyonder.co.uk These are for example. To access the account change passwords I used G email no probs. Then when Web mail access came out they put me on a mailto:GM***@virginmedia.com Email this was not the account holder had to BYonder!! And if I read my mail on G @ BY it was the same as mailto:S***@BY. My wife has a new laptop so moving Email over to it on Office 365 copilot Outlook (client). Thats been changed and is unhelpful. But I can't find the password. (I use a password manager but this was all set up before that). I ring up Help Desk via their automated what do you want Broadband TV etc. Finally get through that and Help desk say this BY account is not connected. Eventually after a morning I get on to a WhatsApp Chat. And they have raised a ticket PO number. But it will take 3 -8 days to respond and they do not talk directly to users. However they have changed the ID of the account holder from a BY email to my VM email. I can access the account and read my Virgin Email. But a brief break from the dialogue. I don't view VM as a comms company they are in entertainment TV and all that jazz. And some time ago they lost Email for about 10 days!! So I decided enough was enough I have my own domain name (only costs a small amount). Went to another company and pay for domain support and Email.) There are rumours?? That VM will drop all blueyonder Email support (and some others). When I started to tell my wife that she may have to change Email address - she wasn't very happy. I would make a formal complaint but I don't feel Virgin Media are listening to their users or helping us. Getting through the on-line phone help desk is a nightmare.48Views1like1CommentNo longer have access to a Blueyonder email account
My daughter can no longer access her blueyonder email account. She can remember her password and the recovery email doesn't appear to be hers. I am the Virgin Media account holder and have been for more than 30 years. Would appreciate some advice on how she can view her emails. Many thanks.99Views0likes11CommentsIP Address Blacklisted
One of our email accounts has not been receiving email since Friday. So we went in and reset the password and tried signing back into the client on the iPad. This kept failing and now no one can receive emails because our IP is now blacklisted. How do we go about removing this blacklist? It was on Spamhaus that it reported that it has been blacklisted.49Views0likes1CommentOutlook email help
Trying to get help on behalf of my mum for email access. Historically she had a blueyonder email address. A while ago virgin stated she had to create an outlook email address. Had some teething problems but managed to keep logged in to my virgin media and email. They stated even if people emailed to blueyonder it would still be received at the outlook address. This seemed to happen. Not sure if it’s worth noting, but she’s always had trouble accessing outlook address through outlook and can only see emails through my virgin media. Recently it’s logged her out and she can’t get back in. She enters the username for my virgin media and it won’t accept the password, so clicks on forgot password, which then sends a verification code to her outlook email which she can’t access. We chatted through WhatsApp to someone who referred it to IT but have heard nothing. Hope my explanation makes sense if anyone can help? Thanks109Views0likes5CommentsBlueyonder email, power of attorney
Wondering if there is anyone who can help me out - my dad has dementia and is locked out of his blueyonder email account and subsequently unable to access his virgin account. It's no longer in use but there are many payments linked to the email acct, as well as the virgin TV, Internet, etc. subscription. I know that blueyonder and Virgin are linked in some way but that's about as close as I've managed to get in untangling this mess and I've not managed to get ahold of anyone from Virgin to speak to about it. I have power of attorney but there don't seem to be any readily accessible resources on handling this. If anyone has any experience with this, advice, or even contacts I can speak to, I would appreciate any help :) this is hard to deal with and it's even harder to get big companies to pay attention to us little folk! Thank you for reading!83Views0likes3CommentsVM O2 account linking ...secondary email account
I understand the need for improved login security these days but this whole switchover to VMO2 accounts has been done without any consideration for customers - a blanket email announcement to all VM customers a month or so ago would've been nice. My issue is that I have a secondary (blueyonder) email address that I have now also linked to VMO2 (along with my primary address) but, before allowing me to login to webmail, it is requiring me to link that 2nd email to my main VM account (when it asks for account no., area ref & surname etc) I am concerned that if I now link the secondary address to my VM acc. it will swap/disconnect the existing (and working) link from my primary email address ..or will it just add it? Has anyone here successfully linked more than one VMO2 account to a single main VM acc? Also, this only seems to be an issue for logging into webmail in a browser - as Mail apps on iphone/ipad/Windows/Mac (with original IMAP settings) are still working. Am happy to NOT use webmail temporarily if VMO2 are planning to revert to a simpler login method - can a moderator please confirm what or if there are any plans for this? Thanks. Can't get access to my email. When I finally got through to an advisor on 150, he told me not to bother trying to log in because THERE IS A FAULT. But I've seen elsewhere on this forum, we are being advised to sign in in a new kind of way. Can an advisor who knows what they're talking about kindly clarify what we are supposed to do. Not that I have much confidence in their reply. If I have to go through the hell I had to go through last time, this time I really will be leaving Virgin Media. None of the Virgin websites are working on my desktop Mac. I look forward to receiving some helpful advice.641Views3likes19Comments
