Hi,
Can someone advise on how to get to Advanced settings on a Virgin TV 360 box?
We use an home automation system and need to enable "Network Remote Control" and specify a static IP address on the box.
The settings available by default are very basic and there must be a way of getting into some sort of advanced settings?

For the record, spent over 1.5 hours on the phone to Virgin Technical Team on Friday and got passed around to 5 different individuals and none of them had a clue or understood the ask.

Unlike the V6\TiVo boxes the 360 does not have an open protocol for control over ethernet, so you will not be able to do that, you will most likely need some sort of IR blaster that is compatible with your control system.
For the static IP, you could just do that through your router and assign a static IP to the box, I think even Virgin's hubs have that functionality, though obviously, that's pretty useless without the ethernet control.

I agree that a static IP is best set through your router. It's certainly a basic task on my Netgear router, I should imagine it's similar on the VM Hubs.
Unfortunately, TV360 is - by nature - often quite simple in the options it offers.

I am using Control4 Home Automation System.
In terms of the IR Blaster - I thought the Virgin360 box doesn't support IR?
Agreed, I have a Ubiquiti Network at home and have fixed the IP for the Virgin360 MAC address.
I really could do with the Network Remote Control option if there is any way of getting into some hidden settings somewhere! It has been available with Virgin and Sky boxes for years....shame this isn't available 😞 I have to use the TV Go app to control the box as some of the rooms are too far for the remote to work.

I know the box seems to be based on the Ziggo box which can be controlled by network commands, but that box uses a login for connection, and there don't seem to be any listing of this anywhere for the virgin box, also if the app can control the box over the network there must be a way, maybe wireshark can sniff out the commands ??, p.s. think its a bit beyond my level of knowlege.

also it does support the IR function as im currently using it to get control using my Crestron control system
