This is what I have at the moment a V6 Box and a Tivo box I received an email saying to enjoy the benefits of Sky Sports + I would need a Box swap I think it must be my V6 box is one of the older ones and click the link to enter details what I wanted to ask is it easy to the self install update and would I need my tivo box to be changed.
I do have loads of recordings on my v6 box so i am a bit undecided if I want to change ove yet as I know I would loose all my recordings on my box

Your V6 box will be software updated to 360 and your TiVo box will be replaced with a 360 mini box, and you will lose all your recordings and series links.
It might be worth reading this post as the Sky Sports + app might be coming to the V6 at a later date.

Also, worth checking that you really want to swap. The 360 is a big downgrade over the V6 and is missing a number of features.
Some of the missing features are as follows; Wishlists (where you can set the box to record programs on certain subjects or featuring certain people), undelete, series link+, series link manager, suggestions, setting of series links for programs not in the current TV guide, ethernet control, keyboard support via USB, switching between tuners with constant buffering, skip-back on fast-forward, quickplay, default recording options, cancelling individual recordings from a series link, multi-channel series links, radio channels allowing recording of radio, separation of recordings between boxes, watching recordings when internet is not available and probably a few others I've forgotten.
Also, extra boxes do not have their own hard disks or tuners (unless converted from a V6 box), so you lose storage space and recording ability and are also reliant on the main box being on to watch and set recordings and also on having a decent wi-fi signal (or ethernet cable) between the two boxes when watching recordings.

Hey @Daveg14
As explained, you would lose access to your existing recordings on both boxes. Please make a note of any of your Series Links that you want to keep so you can add them (using voice control!) once you have your new 360 boxes.
Despite some people clearly preferring TiVo, the data suggests 360 is objectively a better TV service. Customers with Virgin TV 360 consistently score higher in satsifction scores than both V6 and TiVo. They also decide to remove their TV service at a lower rate.
In terms of improvements
All of this adds up to a much better viewing experience. I think it's important to get a balanced view before you switch, so you want to make sure it's worth it 👍

Remember that TV360 is fundamentally a different TV platform than TiVo/V6. There are pros & cons both ways - the Sky Sports HD multiscreen that's currently available on SS-Tennis will be coming to V6, there's just no timescale for it.
The V6 hardware can be reformatted and have the Horizon-360 software installed, the TiVo can't, and will be hardware-swapped to a mini - with the additional storage lost.
