sky sports login

I am trying to access sky sports from a new device

I open the sky sports app and select Watch Sky Sports

It opens the login page and I select the Virging media option and it comes back "An unknown error has occured"

I click on need help and then select Registering your devices. It takes me to a TVgo Virgin page with no mention of registering devices or Sky Sports

I have the a link to a registering devices page and I have deleted 2 slots to make sure there is something available, but this link does not allow you to add a new device

i am stuck

  • Hi jcattell

Do you still have the Sky Sports Player open on the old laptop?

If so that may be why it isn't working on other devices.  You can only stream on one device at a time.

    Info below from https://www.virginmedia.com/help/how-to-use-sky-sports-app

"you can register up to 6 of your devices, make 3 device swaps a month and enjoy streaming Live TV or On Demand Shows in the UK on one device at a time."

Also there were problems with the Sky Sports Player earlier which now appears to be resolved.  see << This thread >>

  • Hello jcattell.

Thanks for your post and welcome back to our community.

Sorry to hear about the fault when trying to access Sky Sports via our log in option.

Can we ask what device you are using and is the software up to date?

The fault you have described kind of points to the actual device, Are you able t log in okay with any other devices?

I am using a new dell laptop running Windows 11. When I received our message I tried logging in on the old laptop.

I can log in on the old laptop and I suspect it might be something to do with my login ID. I have 2 virgin account

The first is a Virgin Media account which is what I use for administering the account

The second is an old ntlworld account which I use for my email and all website accesses.

I have a suspicion that the new laptop might be trying to login using my ntlworld login whereas I can see that the old laptop is using the Virgin Account. On the new one (and on my PC) I get the error message  but I cannot see any way on either of those of changeing the login ID. The error appears before I get the chance to change ID

    Regards

    John

      Thanks for your response jcattell

Just to clarify - do you have 2 Virgin Media broadband services with us? There can only be 1 online account for 1 account, any other access would be to access to secondary emails that have been created.

You'll need to use the primary log in information to access Sky Sports. Please can you try clearing your browsers cache and cookies to see if this allows you to enter in the details to login in.

I have only 1 service with you. My email address goes back to the old ntlword days. On the takeover I was allowed to keep the old email adress but I had to have a Virgin account as the main account for billing etc

OK I cleared cache and I got further than before and I am able to log in

It takes me to a Sky Sports page which shows what is on. When I click on an item (cricket) which is flagged as live it takes me to a page for the event but it is not the live stream

Not used this for a month or so and tonight it is not working again

I log in to sky sports using my virgin login. I select sports, football and it brings up a list of games available (on sports +)

I select my game and a screen showing the game details comes up

I click on watch live and goes back to the home screen

Thanks for reaching out to us jcattell, and we're sorry to hear of the issues viewing the desired game via the options provided by Sky Sports +

Can you please confirm if you were able to see if this worked as expected on the set top box?

Does content provided by Sky Sports + currently work on your device?

      Thanks,

      David_Bn

Sorry taken so long to reply but I have been away

The position now is that I cannot access sky sports on my PC or my laptop. It looks as if it is working and you can select a games to watch but when you do it just goes back to the sky sports home page

However I have installed it on my Galaxy tab7 and it works perfectly with no problems using my Virgin sign in

        Most frustrating
