BBC 1 occasional sound loss / picture freeze and pixilation

For the last few days we have been suffering from occasional sound loss and/or picture freeze and pixilation on BBC 1. It doesn’happen at regular intervals and the rest of the time the picture/sound is perfect. This isn’t happening on other channels. Does anyone else have this issue?

I have checked all of the cables and rebooted all equipment.

The last time that this happened, about a month ago, it turned out to be an issue at  Virgin Media's end.

Posting here becuase it’s clear it is not box specific but a network error. Many of us have reported problems with BBC1 flickering every few minutes which have persisted for several days now without Virgin even acknowledging the fault on their website. When will it be resolved? 

Same thing has been happening to me for last few weeks. It's definitely a Virgin media issue as it doesn't happen on Freeview I'm in Chelmsford btw.

Yep, I've had this issue for a couple of weeks as well. Tried all the usual fixes but no luck.

This must be a network issue as it's affecting so many customers, rather than a box 'fault.'.

I'm paying for a TV service here, so VM need to sort this out.

Same here: stuttering or pixellation every 15-20 mins on BBC1 HD. Virgin engineer on Friday replaced the 360 box and the cabling - Beeb is still stuttering, so it can't be hardware.

Seems a bit better now. Instead of fully flickering they were brief flickers a couple of time an hour. 

Agree. Seems better at the moment, but not fully fixed as there is still the occasional sound loss/picture freeze. But nowhere near as often now.

Have replied to your PM. For the thread - he issue appears to have changed. We are now getting very occasional “Channel Failed” messages that show very briefly. This has happened once this morning. The issue reported in the thread hasn’t appeared (yet) this morning.

Just seen that the following issue is now showing on the Service Status page.

”Details

You might find that your Virgin Fibre, Voice and Virgin TV services are intermittent, with the picture freezing or disappearing now and then. We are sorry and our engineers are working hard to resolve this for you.”
