I am having the same problem and been getting worse over the last 10 to 14 days. Very annoying . Does not happen when I watch bbc1 through my digital aerial on a different TV in my home. Therefore it must be a Virgin problem.  I am currently watching bbc1 10 o clock news and problem is happening at random intervals throughout the program.
