Hi,
I'm due to get my broadband installed today. I ordered this 2 months ago but haven't heard anything since. Is this normal?
My app still says it will be installed today but I'm finding it strange no one has been in contact.

You could call the Installations number 0800 052 1734 to ask what's going on.
But the external part of the VM installation is notorious for being delayed, so if you have an existing broadband connection don't cancel it yet.

Is there an existing Virginmedia cable from the road, with a VM connection box on your house? If not it won't be connected today.

I don't think so. They were meant to do pre-installation yesterday but I don't think that was done. There was a virgin media van in the road for about 20 minutes but I don't think they attached anything to my house.

Would they usually send a confirmation if it was happening today?

They will send a confirmation for the internal work, because an adult has to be there.
The outside work is usually done by subcontractors, and that doesn't need anyone there. But it's very poorly managed and difficult to know when it will happen. There are many complaints on here about delays of days, weeks, months.
