I’ve come home from a couple of days away and my iPhone no longer seems to have internet access when connected to Wifi via my Virgin Media Superhub 5. Other devices are accessing the internet when connected without a problem. I have tried the following:
I’ve re-started my router twice and have tried restarting my phone as well. Does anyone have any thoughts? I’ve done a good search on the forum and haven’t been able to find a solution. Thanks in advance!

Check the VM Hub menus to ensure there are not WI-Fi blocks on the iPhone
and also no MAC Filtering entries for the iPhone.
On the iPhone forget the VM Hub Wi-Fi entry and create a new Wi-Fi connection.

Hi @Client62, thanks for the reply.
I’ve checked the hub menus and the iPhone is showing as connected and there are no MAC Filtering entries at all.
I’ve tried forgetting the VM Hub Wifi and reapplying it and the issue still exists - a very slow wifi connection with internet pages taking about three full minutes to load. Email is the same, however other apps I’ve tried - noticeably instagram - load straight away and without a problem.
I can’t think what might be causing the problem?

APPLE CONNECTION ISSUES
The setting that is critical on the Hub 3 is to have Wi-Fi Security set to WPA2-PSK
this will ensure a fuss free connection with Apple kit.

After a MacOS/iOS update, it may auto turn on Automatic Proxy Discovery for all Wi-Fi networks - so turn it off in network settings as per message 7. In iOs go to Settings>WiFi> tap the blue”I” icon and scroll down and make sure Configure Proxy/‘ is set to off - also that Configure DNS and Configure IP are set to automatic

Hi John,
Thanks for the reply, much appreciated. Unfortunately I’ve gone through every single one of those options and still no improvement. The router shows the iPhone is connected, Instagram and some other apps work fine, but web pages don’t load or take an eternity, mail doesn’t refresh and other apps such as iRobot for my robot vacuum fail to load.
The only other thing I can think of is I am currently running a Beta software (17.6) on my phone, and that has introduced something somewhere. But it’s very frustrating! Any additional thoughts would be appreciated.

Now you tell us! I've always kept away from iPhone betas since my first experiment a couple of years ago. What's worse, afaik, you can't revert to 17.5 without nixing your phone's data and settings. Beta software has bugs by definition. Just don't enrol in the Beta programme.

Hi Alessandro,
I’m very sorry I neglected to mention that in my original post and apologise. I hadn’t updated my software between going away for a couple of days (before which it was working perfectly on my wifi at home) and returning so I deduced something else must be at play.
Again I apologise for posting.
