Red LED on Hub 3

Hi Guys

Just setup my hub to modem mode and now getting a permanent red led.

Tried all the usual, power on off, reset, ventilation is good and not overheating et etc etc. Seems to be working OK but the red LED is disconcerting.

Was working fine in router mode.

All help appreciated.

When in modem mode the LED on a Hub3 is magenta, this can look red to a lot of people.

Its definately red. I have had at least 4 people look at it and they say its red.

Ok, put the hub back to router mode and if the LED is then NOT ‘red’ there is no overheating problem. You can then safely resume modem mode. These are very cheap LEDs and they quickly wear out, in router mode they can look from bright white to deep yellow or even orange.

Thanks for your reply. The hub is fine in router mode.

Interestingly I took a couple of pics of this and other red leds on other equipment

The hub led came out with a distinct yellowish tinge but the others were all red.

Im guessing that whatever combination is used for the magenta one of of the leds is on the way out. Just a guess but seems logical

The LED's on the old Hub 3s are pretty past it now.  If it's not exactly magenta, I wouldn't worry.
