Hub 3 red light

niffniff
On our wavelength

5 year old hub 3 showing red light. We are totally dependent on hub as have health issues in house and this is our phone line too. App says there is a problem and to wait 24 hours but this really isn't good enough. Any help out there please 🙏

If the red light is continuous it may indicate that it's overheating. Call in the morning, report that it is faulty and request a technician to replace it.

Hello niffniff

We're sorry to hear of the red light on your Hub 3, we understand the concern this is causing and thank you for taking the time to make us aware via the forums.

I will send you a Private Message to get some more details from you to assist. Check the envelope in the top right of the forum when signed in for the message.

In the meantime, please ensure the Hub is upright, in a well-ventilated location and out of direct sunlight, if possible.

... like wait 24 hours for the thing to catch fire if it's overheating.  That's the fear, albeit I haven't noticed any reports of the Hub actually catching fire.  But there are many reports in the forum of the original WiFi boosters catching fire.

VM's advice is to switch the Hub 3 off it is is arm to the touch as per this thread:  https://community.virginmedia.com/t5/Networking-and-WiFi/Hub3-permanent-red-light-fire-risk/td-p/539...
