Do i require an engineer

I have Gig1 proving on the 10th but having looked at setups my socket looks like the bold one. Will i medd to contact them to install thr new one before i recoeve my hub or will i meed to wait until I receive my hub

That is a VM phone socket, which is only for the legacy phone service not for internet. See if you can trace the incoming cable for this box, as the incoming feed should be dual coax & phone cable & it may allow you to trace where the coax goes to.

If you are in a flat that has communal wiring you will more than likely need a technician to get started.
