Cannot connect to Panasonic air conditioning app

Hi all

we have just had the latest Panasonic air conditioning unit fitted and downloaded the Panasonic Comfort Cloud app

it will not connect to our WiFi . A call to Panasonic technicial support told did the VM band of our router which is 5mhz needs to be 2.4 to connect and we should connect using one of our pods 

VM says you cannot connect anything using a pod!

Any help please as whilst we can use the unit with its remote being able to use the app would be good
