Can't register for account DE01

I'm trying to register an account, but I get the message:

Oops, we've ran into a problem. 
Wait a minute and try again. If this doesn't work, please come back later. (Code: DEF01)

I've tried again, refreshed browser cache, deleted cookies, and tried multiple email addresses, etc. Always the same message

I'm so sorry to hear you're having some trouble registering for a My Virgin Media online account. Have you also tried doing this from a different device?
