Maxit contract ending

Hi all.

I've just received an email stating my contract is coming to an end. I currently have TNT but I understand this will disappear if I renew unless I subscribe and pay extra.

My question is, what happens if I do nothing? Will anything change or will I just get an increased monthly bill?

I'm currently paying £135/m.

2x360 boxes, maxit tv, sky sports HD, sky cinema,  netfix, I believe 1gb broadband and landline I never use.

Thanks

Hi Chintzo

The email should state the cost of your new out of minimum term contract pricing. £135 is rather a lot to be paying even before the price goes up.

You should consider speaking to retentions (free call 150 from your VM landline, options 1,1,4  and 4) and negotiate a new deal including TNT Sports. I'm sure you could get this for less than you are currently paying (even including the additional cost of TNT Sports going forward)

The email should have shown your package charge up to the end date of your contract and then your new charge from the day after. Everything will stay the same including TNT.

If you phone and negotiate a new contract your TV package will change from Maxit to Mega and TNT will be £18 a month extra. You don't have to accept anything offered at the time on the phone if you aren't happy with the offer. I signed into My Virgin Media account and found a link there to renew my contract keeping everything the same (maxit + TNT) which was better than anything offered by retentions.

Needed help from the forum team to actually get it activated because nothing happened automatically.

Thanks guys. The email doesn't mention costs just that whatever price I renew at will be fixed until March 2025.

The email also says my contract is coming to an end. I've just checked, November 21st. It also says:

Just a heads up that customers who have Maxit TV will no longer get TNT Sports included when recontracting with this offer.
