Hard Search after signing up

please can anyone help regarding a hard credit search. We are currently in process of getting a mortgage and virgin have put a hard credit search on my file. This wasn’t mentioned in the call, can anyone contact me regarding this

We're very sorry if you were not advised of a credit check during a call with us, were you signing up with us as a new customer during this call? Were you looking to take out cable services (TV/broadband/landline)?

Yes I was signing up as a new customer for just broadband.

Sorry to hear this.

We do perform a credit check on every customer when they do sign up.

We are sorry if you wasn't told or aware of this.
