Landline dead again - need an engineer :)

Hi,

Not sure how long our landline as been dead for but it's gone again for the 3rd time this year !!!

After the fiasco with the TiVo v6 box replacement being booked in as a broadband  problem by the offshore call centre i thought it best to post in here 🙂

Can a engineer be booked to look at moving the landline to the virgin hub or just sort the problem out once and for all, our elderly father may need to use the landline in an emergency, he doesn't do mobile phones.

Sorry to hear of the landline issues experienced, we appreciate you taking the time to raise this via the forums.

 

From checking, we can see there is currently an area issue impacting all services, Broadband, TV and Landline. The estimated fix time for the issue is Wednesday 26 June 2024 at 4.50pm, our engineers are working on this to fully resolve the issue as quickly as possible.

Our landline is now back, will see how long it lasts 😉

Thanks for the update @nuttyslack, and we're pleased to hear of the return of the landline services and we sincerely hope this is a long term solution to the recent fault.

Phone line dead again,  this shouldn't keep happening didn't last as long as last time, as we said at the start of this thread. our elderly father may need to use the landline in an emergency, he doesn't do mobile phones.

Thank you so much for your post and we are so sorry to hear that the phone line is down again. I have checked and cannot see there is a current outage that may be causing this. 

Can I just confirm, is there no dial tone? Is the phone connected at a main or extension socket and how many other pieces of equipment are attached at the same point?

No dial tone, checked all connections and another phone still not working
