My virgin.net email account was hacked and I lost access to the account. I've had the account since year dot when Virgin offered free accounts. The account isn't linked to an service account and has never been an option but we have been Virgin media customers every since they bought out Eurobell. It won't accept a password reset. Virgin media support said I should use Google for support or go back to the site where I created the account! Does anyone know how to time travel?

Hi All,
So our virgin email was hacked back in Feb this year and as a result I lost access to my Microsoft account, upon trying to contact Microsoft to get my account back they explained as it is provided by an ISP I need to contact Virgin. I first noticed this through Xbox when being signed out and upon attempting to log back in the email address was changed to a spam email, meaning there was no way of changing the password. Is it possible to regain access to the email and Microsoft account as there's a lot of important data on them.
Thanks.

Hi joel0409,
A warm welcome and thanks for posting on our community forums. We can certainly investigate this matter further for you.
Before we invite you in for a private chat, can we confirm if you have any active Virgin Media services with us currently.
We only ask as Virgin.net email addresses are normally orphaned accounts. For more information about this, you can check the link here https://community.virginmedia.com/t5/Email/Orphan-Email-accounts/td-p/3492073/jump-to/first-unread-m...
Kind regards Jodi.
