NTLworld email won't send

Hi all,

I am unable to send emails from my NTLWorld email address using the email apps on my MacBook, Samsung phone and iPads.

 

I have checked the settings and they are correct:

 

imap.virginmedia.com

SSL yes

Port 993

smtp.virginmedia.com

SSL yes

Port 465

 

I can still receive emails using these apps, but when I compose an email and try to send, they stay in the "outbox" and I receive a message to say there was a problem.

 

Logging into the webrowser version is fine, I can send on there.

 

Please advise what to do next!

Sorry to see you're having issues with your emails. Just to confirm, have you been able to try resetting your password then relogging in on these 3rd party devices?

Hi folks I'm having the same issue on my iphone 15 pro max. I've been through to virgin and they are giving m the run around and trying to charge me to speak to the gadget team!  They say it's not their fault!

They made me change my password and try it again and I'm getting the error message username and password for smtp.ntlworld.com is incorrect. I did try changing the settings to the smtp.virginmedia.com but I still got exactly the same message. 

I also have a separate virgin media email account and that sends and receives just fine.

I can still receive my NTLworld emails just it's just sending them that is the issue.

Has anyone found a solution for this please?

Welcome back to the community and thanks for taking the time to post. I’m sorry to hear of the issues that you’re having with your email account at the moment. 

Have you tried to remove and re-add the server information of your email address? All the information that you need to do that can be found here.
