NTLworld account

Hi Steven_L

I have a similar issue. I have not been with NTL / Virgin for quite some time (several years). I keep getting emails (mainly spam) to the ntlworld.com email address. I contacted Virgin media today by telephone and was told there is nothing that can be done. Surely someone somewhere must be able to help deactivate / delete the account.

One of the Forum Team (VM staff who support thsi forum) can arrange to have the old Ntlworld account deleted. One of the team will contact you via this forum thread in the next day or so,

However, be aware that sometimes when VM "delete" (note the inverted commas) an email account they simply remove access to the email account on the VM website but leave the mailbox itself still live.

That means, if your old Ntlworld account is forwarding these spam emails to your new accounts then you would continue to receive them even after VM have "deleted"it.  In other words they have not fully deleted the email account.

So make sure that VM fully delete your Ntlworld account including the mailbox. When VM advise they have deleted the account you can check that by sending a test message to your old Ntlworld address. If you get an undelivered error message back it will prove the account has been fully deleted. If you don't then you need to come back here again.

    I hope that makes sense

Hi Coenoby, hope you are well. I have the same issue with an old NTLworld email address sending and receiving spam that I wish to permanently close / delete? Can you or the team kindly help me with this? Kind Regards, D.C.

If that ntlworld.com email account is a secondary account on a live VM broadband account then it can be deleted via the "Manage other My Virgin Media accounts" link in the primary My Virgin Media account.

On the other hand, if it is no longer linked to a live VM broadband account then the Forum Team can certainly arrange to get it fully deleted for you.

However, as I understand it, the team are not on duty today so it will be Thursday at the earliest before they contact you. Bear in mind though that when they return on Thursday they will have a backlog to catch up with so it may be Friday before they pick up on your post.

      Hello anglojock9.

Thanks for your first post and welcome to our community.

We're sorry to hear you're getting endless spam emails every day.

Have you had a look at our webmail help here

You can also report any spam or phishing emails through this link here

If by any chance you're not able to report a particular spam mail then it just means were already aware of it.

Hi, I also have an old ntlworld account, it has been hacked and the password changed, I get hourly attempts to have my Microsoft account accessed from this account, fortunately this has not been successful, can anyone help to get this account closed down/deactivated, many thanks.
