Passwords for my other NTLWorld email accounts

Back in the old days I could log into my Virgin Account and create and manage the other email accounts I had created for my wife and son. Now that facility has gone.

My wife has changed her phone and I can not get the password for her email address to set up on the phone's email client.

I am totally confused by the new process as it seems I now have to create a new Virgin ID for each of the other other email accounts.

Do I create a Virgin account using the original NTLworld email address my wife has or do I create it using her outlook.com email address and then how do I link it to the NTLworld email so we can retrieve a password for it.

I have tried to use the webchat to find out and the agents were the worse customer service agents I have ever dealt with. I work in IT providing support to users and if I ever acted like they have I would have lost my job.

Can anyone help me?

  • Each ntlworld email address has needed its own MyVM account for several years now.  All that has changed recently is that the MyVM account sign in process has changed to the VMO2 ID.  For your wife's account you should go the the MYVM sign in page and enter the ntlword email address and current password (if you have previously changed the account username to a third party email such as her outlook.com email then you should sign in with that).  The system should then automatically lead you through the process to convert to a VMO2 ID for your wife's account.

Once you have done this you will then need to go through the process to generate an email app password for use with the phone's email client.

To create an email app password or update an existing one you need to follow these steps:

Sign into the My Virgin media account for the email concerned with your VMO2ID
    Select Account Settings
    Select Identity & Security Settings
    Select Manage your products
    Select Manage email app password
Click on the blue button 'Get New Password'

Make a note of the generated password.  This is what you use in the mail apps along with the vm email address as the username.
