NTLworld emails stopping

are the NTLworld emails stopping? I was on the phone with a virgin media rep, and he said that they had turned off the ntlworld email server so that all ntlworld email accounts would stop working unless you contacted tech support to keep the email live

Is this right, as have not had any contact about this?

  • still am a broadband customer. email worked fine one day. then next day it was not assessable, and when i spoke to the rep he said the ntlworld server had been turned off

      Hello ffffff,

      Welcome to the Community and thanks for taking the time to post here on the forums. I’m sorry to hear of the issues that you’re having with your email account at the moment. 

      Have you been able to regain access to your email account since you last posted? If not, are you still able to access your online? if you're still able to access your online account, please can you take the below steps to try to regain access to your account.

      • Sign in to My Virgin Media
      • Go to Account settings
      • Click Virgin Media Mail Settings
      • Security and sign in details
      • Manage your Virgin Media Mail app password
      • Continue the flow and a new secure password will be generated, and the mailbox unlocked.
      • Update any third-party apps that may be use to access your Virgin Media Mail emails with this new app password.

      The above should reset your mailbox and enable access again. Please give this a try and let us know how it goes.

  • Hi I have the same issue with ntlworld email I have rest password on outlook all blue ticked can receive mail but can’t send …..this is the 3rd time this has happed

      We'd ask to ensure all of the details and settings are correct as advised here, there is also some assistance here for more general issues.

  • Got access again, but only by setting up an outlook email account, and using that to get a rest system. However, have lost the ntlworld accout, and now need to use the outlook account email as the username to log into my ntlworld account.

      That would be correct.  VM now require the use of 3rd party email addresses.  They haven’t given users email addresses for over 3 years now.
