main email deleted without warning by Virgin Media

I was cut off last week by Virgin.

I did not have broadband anymore but had vjrgin email for 20 years they cut lost me 4000 emails everything...my divorce court late parents and as I'm homeless cant find memorable word but after 5 hours two days Indian call centre would not help....im totally lost...gave all my 5 previous address verified me but just kept repeating script over n over sickens me....

    Thanks for your first post and welcome to our community.
    Sorry to hear you've lost access to your email account after your service was cut off.
    I'd like to investigate this for you and see if we can get you access to your email account. I do need to advise it may not be possible as we do terminate email access within 90 days of a customer leaving us. That being said I will try my best to help.
    If you don't mind, I will need to send you a private message to pass security. 
    If you can check your logo at the top right of your screen that would be great.

  • This has happened to me also. I was cut off after over 20 years of having a virgin.net email without any warning. I haven't had broadband etc with them for over 10 years but still had emails and could log into my media account. I  contacted them as it says the account would be valid for 90 days and I could move my emails; however they said as I wasn't a customer I couldn't get access to the tech team or recover my emails as they would be deleted. I have now been on the phone trying to update all my details with various companies and retrieve documents.

    If they wanted to close all accounts for people who don't have broadband etc with them I understand this but a warning email with a link to forward to a different email account would have been great. Really bad communication and very stressfull!

      From Thursday 3 October 2024, we began contacting former Virgin Media customers via email who still have an active Virgin Media email account to make them aware that we'll soon be closing said email account.

      Upon receiving the initial notification, we'll send a reminder email 15 days after, and finally fully close the email account 30 days after.

      We're sorry if you missed the contact, and for any inconvenience caused.
