Fake anti-virus warnings...
I've been getting multiple e-mails purporting to be from Virginmedia, warning that scans of my system have shown assorted dire stuff, my anti-virus protection is about to lapse, my account to be suspended.
Soon, tomorrow, tonight, again, again, again: IIRC, has now expired at least five times...
Also, looking at mail headers, most claimed to sent by me or 'foundrybrands.com', addressed to an ancient AOL (!!) account. Wasn't even mine...
Also, they cannot agree on which el-cheapo anti-virus I'm using, the latest being McAfee...
Happens, I'm running a commercial anti-virus / fire-wall, dialled up to trigger-happy paranoid.
N***n's reports no malign trespassers, duly flags each such e-mail as 'Uh-uh'...
I thought Virginmedia mail-server routinely filtered such 'frequent phishers' ??
same here.
Also now getting e-mails saying that my account has been locked due to suspicious behavior that mcaffee has seen. Since VirginMedia AND Myo2 has partnered up with mcaffee, they want you to sign up and pay a monthly subscription to this sack of dung. Well nope i wont. and i believe this also to be scam e-mails. So i just trash e'm into the discard bin...
