I want my old blueyonder email to be deleted fully.

Hi Community,

I have a current virginmedia account.

I have an old blueyonder.co.uk email which when I log into my virgin media account (secondary account and not the master account) and click on email it takes me into my blueyonder email account.

This email account was recently hacked as my password was either leaked or cracked.

By the time I relised as I don't check this email account very much my instagram and facebook account had been hacked as they used the blueyonder email as the login.

Anyway I have changed the username for facebook and instagram to my gmail email and reset the blueyonder email password.

I now have no accounts or anything at all linked to this blueyonder account and I no longer use it and have deleted all of the emails that were in the account.

I now want this email fully deleted forever.

I have changed my virgin media secondary login username to my gmail email and updated the password.

But this is still linked to blueyonder emails.

I though that maybe if I log in as the virgin media master account I can then delete the secondary account (my gmail login) and that might delete the blueyonder email fully.

But I am concerned that this might just leave it still active but orphaned.

I would like to have this blueyonder email deleted forever.

  • Virgin Media IT team contacted me, took some more details for security and deleted my email completely.

    watwatty  If you delete the secondary account via your Primary My Virgin Media account it should delete the blueyonder email address attached to it fully.  Occasionally it has been reported that only access to the address is deleted rather than the full email address.

    After you delete the secondary account you should be able to check that the blueyonder address has been deleted by sending an email to it from another address.  You should get a non delivery message returned say the mailbox doesn't exist.  Check a few days after deleting the account and if you don't get a non delivery message then post back and the VM Forum Team will be able to investigate for you.

      I have sent an email to my old blueyonder email and it has not been deleted even though I have deleted my secondary virgin media account which wax linked to this email.

      It looks like this is now an orphaned account.

      Could this please be permanently deleted.
