Hub5 setting password not working

I have a hub5 model f3896LG VMB, the setting password on the label is not working.

Router is new, but tried factory default but not working (holding WPS for 60s).

Label seems clear but tried different character in case of wrong printing

c -> o, g, 0

H->h

z->Z

any idea how to get into the configuration?

    Rubbish printing on Hub 5 stickers has been mentioned on here before

    It is usually the 9th character (as per your pic) which seems to cause confusion. In one of the links above this was an 'e' but it is not always so.

    Sometimes the password in the hub is corrupt and will never work with the one shown on the sticker. You may need a new hub.

    Have you done a 60 second reset on the hub to clear any existing password back to factory (not using the WPS button but the recessed reset button which I believe is underneath the hub)?

    Possibly time to request another working Hub.

    As indicated by goslow  you should be pressing the actual reset button which is on the base of the hub for 60 seconds, and not the WPS button which puts the device into pairing mode.

    It's also been suggested in the past that it helps to remove all ethernet cables when factory resetting the hub.

    To my eyes the actual settings password pictured  shows the letter e after the letter j - the rest seemed pretty straightforward.

    The UK and VM should never of forced this random password thing random password for wifi OK but not for the device.

  • As already suggested, unplug all ethernet and telephone devices from the SuperHub 5, so that only the white coaxial cable and power lead are plugged in.  Then try a factory reset.

    To do a factory reset, the SH5 should be turned on.  What I'd do is power it on for about 2-3 minutes to give it time to properly startup, then press the reset button under the SH5 for no less than 30 seconds - 60 seconds is best.  Give the SH5 a good 5 minutes to reset and restart.

    From the image you've posted, the password appears to be zrfsHtuje6fc.  If this doesn't work, I would ask for a replacement.  To be honest, I've never seen the incorrect password printed on the sticker, so it'd surprising if is what's happened.

      Its correct when you get the hub but is it correct after a reset...
