Hub 5 DCHP issues?

Hi all,

for a long time I've had a hub 5 running a single ethernet cable from port 4 (2.5Gbps) into a Netgear GS108 8 port unmanaged switch. The switch then fed 7 devices over ethernet.

Today I lost connection to all devices wired to the switch.

WiFi has been fine throughout

Swapped out the Hub 5 > GS108 ethernet cable, no joy

Rebooted router and switch several times, no change.

Did a pin reset on router, no change

Plugged various devices directly into router and they worked fine.

All lights on switch indicate a cable connection to hub.

There are no lights on the back of the hub (are there even any lights?)

I've temporarily connected my most important 4 devices to the hub, so at least I can WFH.

This is the 2nd Hub 5 I've had, the first had all the ethernet ports fail completely and was replaced about 2 years ago.

I've not done any sort of configuration from standard on the Hub 5 (e.g modem mode etc) and its been running fine since replacement, nothing has changed in setup

So unless my switch has somehow died, my limited understanding points towards DCHP not working on the Hub 5? Does this sound right? Might there have been a firmware upgrade happen without my knowledge that's changed something?

Any help/tests I can do greatly appreciated, as I could really do with reverting to previous setup of 7 devices.

Thanks in advance

Try the GS108 8 port unmanaged switch connected via a 1 Gb/s port on the Hub 5.

The GS108 may have failed, try alternative switch even if it is a 10/100.

The Hub's DHCP appears to work as direct connected devices are working ok.

Thanks, I should have mentioned I tried the switch on the other hub ports as well. Unfortunately I don't have another switch to test, will see if I can borrow one

get your own router with 1Gb ports use hub in modem mode

Think that might be the long term solution...
