I installed the tv360 update on my v6 box last night. All was fine. This morning my tv was showing no signal. Unplugged the box and plugged back in I got the welcome splash screen then when back to no signal. Also the box is making some weird whirring noises I’ve not heard before. Has the update bricked my box?
Think I’ve sorted it. After some research holding the power button and - button after powering up did a complete reset of the box and it redownloaded all the software. Seems to be working again now. Fingers crossed. Hope this helps anyone else with the issue, probably some corrupt code in the original download?
So got up this morning and the box is dead again. Think the hard drive is faulty as it’s making weird whirring noises again. Any chance support could arrange an engineer please to save me having to ring the awful support line?
After another hard reset it seems to be ok again. Was on this morning so fingers crossed. Will monitor over next few days.
If your converted TiVO V6 was well used (several years old) the heavy disk use involved can cause the conversion to fail, with recordings persistently being lost & startup problems. The inevitable result will be a box replacement.
