Can't see subtitles when fast forwarding

Firstly its now vastly more difficult to activate subtitles, but also when I fast forward, subtitles dissappear, making it very difficult to resume watching in the correct place.

Has anyone got a work around for this? Its feels like accessibility requirements have been deprioritised significantly in product development.

This may not be unique, our Sky Q also does not display subtitles in fast forward mode.

You can see why, at full 30x FF each second, 30 seconds of text would need to be displayed,
    it would be unreadable.

You can use the contect key to activate sub titles.  You can also have subtitles turned on permanetly (when available within a program) via Settings > Accessibility > Subtitle options.

The easiest method though is to use voice control and just say, 'subtitles'

  • Hi there,

Thanks for your post and welcome to our community.

  • Whilst we don’t have any accessibility requirements, prior to 360 it was possible to follow a programme at 2x FF with sub-titles.

I find the problem is doing this now the VM banner obscures the bottom 20% of the screen making it a much poorer experience.  I can’t believe this is a TiVo copyright feature so not sure why that can’t disappear after a few secs as before.

  • The above comment perfectly summarises the problem. If I had to pause live tv I would often watch on x2 with subtitles to catch up.  Now not an option.
