Landline not working

On Thursday a Virgin engineer changed the cable leading from the road to my house. Since then my landline has a message saying "Check Land Line" and you get no dialling tone when trying to ring out. When you ring the landline you get a ringing tone on the phone you call from  but the landline does not ring.

    The newer cable, AFAIK, does not have the phone cable attached like the old cable.  The phone cables are no longer needed as it is now provided by the TEL1 socket on the Hub.  It may be you just need CS to activate this socket?

    How is your landline phone connected? Is it plugged into the back of the VM hub, or to a separate wall socket?
