Landline into router

Just received the cable to add landline to router ( previously had a phone point. Followed all instructions but phone is saying ‘out of range’ even though next to router.

  • It says there is a specific switch over date. Has that been set for today as was due to receive equipment yesterday and it did not arrive

    “Out of range” messages on handsets usually occur if a mobile handset is out of range of its plug-in base station. This is nothing to do with the router, as the phone does not use Wi-Fi. You need to plug the phone base station into the adapter provided, that goes into the router.

    If you plug your telephone into the old wall sockets and it still works & makes calls, 
    that means the transfer of the phone service to the VM Hub has not occurred yet.
