Help porting landline number to virgin from BT

Hi,

I would like to port my BT number over to my virgin phone, which is already active. I can then cancel my BT account. How do I go about doing this please?

Help would be much appreciated.

    Call Virgin & request a number port. Virgin will then arrange a porting date with BT when your BT number will replace your Virgin number. Doing this automatically cancels your BT account, so there is no need to cancel directly with BT. In fact putting in a cancellation request could interfere with the porting process.
