Extending my phone to the virgin router via powerline adaptors
I have an old bakerlite phone thats been adapted to be used with the new IP phone switchover. On my virgin router I have an RJ11 socket to plug this old phone into and this works fine and the phone rings with its old bell which is nice.
The issue is that I want the old phone in another room and I don't want to extend the phone cable to this room from the router.
Can homeplugs be used to extend the phone from the RJ11 socket on the router?
Setup would be like this:
RJ11 to RJ45 adapter plugged into the router then an RJ45 cable going from that adapter into the powerline sender. Then the reverse at the other end so I can plug the old phone in. Will this work? If it does how will it ring as it needs power to ring from the socket (the virgin router obviously provides this power). If it works and I can make and recieve calls on the old phone but it doest ring, will a powerline kit that has POE injection resolve that?
Your help would be much appreciated!
Thanks...
