I spoke to VM customer services and was told that virgin accounts are “residential”meaning that I can’t cancel and get my spouse to sign up as a new customer. If I leave and go to sky and then return in 18 months I will still not be a new customer as my residence details will still be on their system. New customer is only once in a household lifetime. She was adamant it’s not the person but the residence that counts as new.
She spoke more baloney than I can find at my local smoked sausage emporium. Your spouse can be a new customer after your current contract term is up and you can be too but after a break of 3 months.
Nope that’s not my experience. I left and rejoined after about 3-4 months. Got a new user deal of twice the speed for less than half I was paying previously.
90 days after disconnection if in same name. Next day if someone else's name but install cant happen till after the disconnection. If you want cashback fromtopcashback.co.uk or quidco.com, it's one year after disconnection if in same name to get the cashback part. You are also able to take free gifts offered with any promotional package or bill credit offered 90 days after disconnection if in same name.
Worth noting and looking out for....
Are you out of your original sign-up account period (18mo)? If not you will be subjected to a hefty early disconnection fee. That is waived at the end of the intro period and you can leave free of charges with 30 days notice
