Pre Install Work Timeline

Hi, new customer here, signed up on 30th Aug, with a planned install date of 16th October, which is now 9 days away.. the track your order page says that because I haven’t had VM before that a pre-install engineer visit will be required and I would be contacted within the 14 days prior to the installation date, but nothing has happened yet, and nobody has contacted me. 

Is this something to be concerned about? Will the installation still go ahead on the 16th October as I have booked the day off work to be at home.

    A warm welcome to our Community Forums and thanks for posting. It's great to have you here.

    I'm sorry to hear that you've not yet been contacted about the pre-pull. These are not usually booked appointments and stay on your account as a 'floating' appointment. What this means is that it rolls over each day until it's completed.

    You'll usually be given an installation date and the work can happen at any time up to that date. 
    The team will be working hard to reach you as quickly as possible so it's not possible for us to expedite these I'm afraid. 
    When it comes to pre-pulls, there a number of things that could be needed included permits, traffic management or specialist equipment.

    I appreciate it isn't ideal when you don't have a fixed date for a pre-pull but you won't be required to be in for any external work.

      or put another way - they dont have a clue when it will happen as its been put out to outside contractors and there is absolutly no communication between them and VM - so dont cancel what you have now until VM is up and running - i think the longest time frame from order to install is about 14 months - work with that and you have some idea of what might happen
