New splitter cable

Hi all, I’m looking to get a longer splitter cable but not sure how to go about it. Any ideas?

The primary place to report faults or for service requests is Customer Services on 0345 454 1111/150 if you have a VM landline or wait two or three days for a VM staff member to get to your post.

The longest cable you can get pre-made is 3 metres. This is a replacement for the 1 metre cable in the standard kit (not an add-on to it). Anything longer will require a technician visit. This is because 1) Virgin use specialised cable that prevents interference from entering the network & 2) increasing the length of cable affects the signal levels at your property. Adjusting these involves opening the street cabinet & making alterations. As callouts like this are not fault related VM charges £25 per visit.

You can either call faults via the usual telephone numbers to arrange this, or wait here a few days for a response from the Forum Team to arrange.

        Hi Swinola
Thanks for your post and welcome back to our community.

We can send 5M, 10M or 15M coax cables.

Is that the type of cable you're requesting?

Please pop back to us when you can.

  • Hi, I posted almost a week ago to request info on a longer splitter cable. I was told that I need an engineer visit and one of the VM team would be in touch in a few days  to arrange this. I’ve not heard anything yet, how long does it usually take?

      Hi Swinola,

Thank you for reaching back out, apologies for the delay in getting to you, we can send an engineer to relocate/ add a longer cable, this is classed as a call out and is charged as a one off £25 which goes on the following bill, as advised earlier we can also send 5, 10 or 15 metre cable so you can do this yourself with no charge.

So we can arrange either I have sent you an invite into a private chat, please click on the white envelope to accept.

      Regards

      Paul.
