Switchover to Plusnet

Hi all, due to not being able to get through to a human on the phone or online I thought I’d come on here to try and get some answers… I have recently switched over to PlusNet from Virgin, on the 15th July to be precise but I have just received another bill from Virgin that covers August. The one touch switch was issued by PlusNet on the 15th July so why am I still getting bills and the internet connection is still working as well. Any help would be appreciated

  • Hi Spursgae123 thanks for posting although we're sorry to hear of your concerns raised, as well as motomate987.

I'll send you both a PM so we can look into this - expect the PM to arrive shortly and respond directly when you can!

    Many thanks

  • I am having same problem. I have been going over in circles with my new provider and VM. The new provider initiated the one touch switch in June and completed the installation about a week ago. But VM has still not cancelled my service or issued any final bill. They are saying that the new provider has to send a confirmation of installation which the new provider has already sent. I am worried that I will be paying for service which I do no need. Do not know what to do!!!!!

AFAIK VM still have a 30 day notice period, so you need to take it into consideration.  I don’t think using One Touch Switching gets around this?

It does - as long as a customer is beyond their minimum contract period, then any further notice doesn't apply. Any issues should go through the new provider [assuming one touch switch has been used] and the customer should not have to speak to the losing one.

The switching process probably won’t change much for consumers, except for the fact you won’t need to contact your old provider to let them know you’re leaving. You’ll also no longer need to provide a 30-day notice period, and all billing and activation dates are handled in the background between the operators.
