[Solution] to VM linking problem

This worked for me.

Go to Bing Search (yes, it has to be Bing), and search for 'Virgin Media Register', and look for the first non sponsored result, which should be titled 'Register My Virgin Media Account' follow that which manages to stay on the original Virgin Media Registration page. Setup your virgin media account there. Once that is setup try and go to the normal login which takes you back to the VirginMediaO2 linking thing, and set up/link again.

  • Thankfully it’s resolved.I would imagine quite a few new customers have cancelled due to virgins refusal to acknowledge this problem, I was very nearly one of them. Not good customer care

  • The amount of calls, emails and various forum posts you have found the answer that Virgin media don’t even know how to sort out. The amount of times they have said ā€œit will resolve once your account is liveā€ which is utter rubbish as all the generated emails and text messages are telling you to register to rearrange your engineer visit if required. I can’t believe a company of this size couldnt find this resolution. Oh well it’s fixed now. Thanks again šŸ‘

  • This worked for me except now when I login My Virgin just endlessly refreshes

Having same issue, used instructions above and now when I log on it just keeps loading the page on a loop until it says oops cannot load page. So frustrating. It's like it's trying to load my virgin media and my vmo2 and can't decide which one to load.

Without seeing what you are looking at, it's hard to confirm..........but you might be right. If the page that you keep seeing reload is the basic VM landing page with the purple strip up top, then you should also see an icon in the upper right that should allow you to log out.

In the upper left of that same screen, you might see 3 bars that should offer you other menu options and other areas of the site you can access with your current log in.

        Hello Redis,

Welcome back to the Community and thanks for taking the time to post. I’m sorry to hear of the issues that you’re having with your online account at the moment.

Are you able to try and complete the registration in incognito or private browsing mode?

        Kind Regards,

        Steven_L

  • Thanks a lot. Clearly new customers should not really have to bother with the old Virgin Media account - but here we do.

  • It works!!!! Been trying to get this sorted for weeks now! and even Virgin Media haven't been able to help! Thank you so much OP. This 100% works.
